The dry patchouli and creamy cedar combo is surprisingly smooth—no sharp edges—and the hot-and-cold spice thing actually plays out on my skin over a few hours. Sam’s got a nice swagger to it, but it’s not obnoxious.

I’m usually not a patchouli person, but the dry cedar underneath keeps it from being too hippie—sweet and smoky at once, like a worn leather jacket. Wore it to a dinner party and two people asked what I had on before I even said a word. Sam’s got range, and so does this bottle.

That opening hit of hot and cold spices is genuinely surprising—it shifts on the skin in a way I didn't expect. The dry down to creamy cedar makes it feel almost warm and confident, like wearing a leather jacket you've broken in. I've gotten three compliments in one day wearing it.
